One thing is for sure: Bucharest does not know what it feels like to be in a post-summer blues mood, as far as live music is concerned. With Madonna’s super concert signaling the end of the summer in late August, some thought that the party’s over. They were so wrong. From September to the end of the year there are dozens of live concerts spread all over the Romanian capital. We chose the best 16 and present them to you.

So, welcome this Fall season with an impressive parade of international stars who give their live gigs in the capital’s most prestigious venues, like the Palace Hall, Sala Polivalentă and the Hala de Muzika.

September is the month of Anastacia, who made her Romanian fans count down the days. She is followed by Leonard Cohen and Macy Gray, while at the Izvor Park Guano Apes, Chicane, the Herbaliser and the Crystal Method are just few of the names appearing in the Tuborg Green Fest.

October is a month of more world sounds: Cesaria Evora from Cabo Verde, followed by the Cuban Eliades Ochoa of the Buena Vista Social Club and the Belgian Vaya con Dios. Later in the month, things get tougher, with the ZZ Top live and the metal sounds of the Amorphis from Finland. And of course, this is the month of the Masters of Jazz Festival, which features artists like Eliane Elias, Chick Corea, Mike Stern and Brandford Marsalis, among others.

November will be remembered for two words: Simple Minds! The British band appears at the Palace Hall on the 20th. Also in November, we have jazz sounds with Diana Krall and Jan Garbarek, rocking times with the W.A.S.P. and the comeback of German pop queen Sandra.

In December, just before Christmas prepare for something seasonal: the Harlem Gospel Choir are coming from America to give you some of the Season’s spirit.

Take a carefull look at the detailed programme that follows and book early.
